For my Tsunami Rose Designs February DT project I used the Rose Notecards Journal kit. Instead of a vintage vibe, I was inspired to go with more of a colorful and spring theme to this journal. With the black, white and coral pink colors in the journal I decided to add touches of mint green and teal to it. (As I am obsessed with the pink and green color combo right now.) There is a lot of sewing detail through this journal, including sewn ruffles of cotton fabric and chiffon as well. Flowers, ribbons, fibers and tulle were used to embellish the journal - creating a colorful and tactile piece with bits and pieces to touch and journal on. The cover is a gutted book, that has been covered with crinkled kraft paper and hand painted to look like white faux leather. Pink and coral flowers embellish the cover and give a sneak peek into what is inside the journal. The journal has 3 signatures, 80 pages and contains glassine bags, pockets and altered paperclips perfect for keeping photos and personal memorabilia in.
