Guest Blogger Loves Sketches by Tsunami Rose! Day #1 [ Mimi Dibble ]

I love Sketches by Tsunami Rose, Day 226

Hi everyone, Thank you for stopping by today. My name is MiMi Dibble.  I am really happy to be guest blogging today for Daisy.  I blog over at thescrapinator5000.

Today I was asked to complete sketch # 14 using one of the printables from the I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose September 2012.  I picked  one of the new 8.5x11 Vintage Digital Printable Scrapbook Paper- "Grunge Planks"

I picked this paper for three reasons. One, it's 8.5x11 and I really like working with that size paper.  Two, I really  like the natural look of it.  I like a lot of nature themed things so this was a good fit for me.  The last reason is because I really need to make a daybook for all my camping pictures from our trip to Lake Michigan this summer.  We went camping for five days and I have some beautiful pictures...so I thought...camping...wood... sounds good to me.

Here is what I came up with...

Using Items from the shop:

The first thing I did was to print out two of the digital papers.  This is one of the nice things about buying digital. You can print out as many as you need, as often as you need. When you print these digital prints out, there is a very small white border around the edge of the paper.  I first glued both of the pages together and then trimmed off the white edged using my paper trimmer.  I folded it in half to make the cover of my book.  I added an edge to the front and back cover, bringing the book measurements to approximately 5.5x8 inches.

After hand sewing in my signature of 5 pages, I decorated the cover.  I added some Kraft paper, a banner, an arrow (who doesn't love those) and some Thickers to name my book.  I gave the banner some dimension by attaching it with foam tape.  I punched out and colored some clouds for the top and you're done, just like that.

I have never followed a sketch before, not even a very long time ago when I was a hard core traditional scrapbooker.  I kinda did my own thing.  I know, I'm such a rebel.  The sketch made this cover very easy for me to complete quickly, and trust me when I say I need help being quick.

I hope you enjoyed the post. Please head over to the Zibbet Shop and look around. There are a lot of new 8.5x11 digital scrapbook papers that are really cute to use.

I'll be back on the 25th of this month with another design using a different 8.5x11 digital scrapbook paper.
