A Purple Birthday Card, You Say?

A friend of mine requested I make him a purple birthday card for his mother. I said I would love to. I thought I would come up with two slightly different cards and let him choose. I always love options and I hope other people appreciate that. :)

I do my distressing with a potato peeler. . . a little trick I picked up when I first began scrapbooking.I was looking for something to do the distressing and I already had one of these from the dollar store. . . and I don't peel a whole lot of potatoes. I took inspiration from one of the cards I made in the past. I run my ink pad across the edge of the paper to give it a singed look and to make the papers stand out from one another. The phrase was cut out from the Paper Pups Cricut Cartridge. Also there is a layer of chipboard under the phrase to make it pop a little off the page. I'm not sure where the flower is from. Both papers are from Recollections.

  3. You did a wonderful job on your cards! I know his mother will love which ever one he chooses. I prefer the first one just because it is lighter in color, not so much black..Very nice!
