I selected a journal page that has an interesting border detail, to use as the patterned paper on this card. I rounded the corners, distressed the edges with ‘black soot’ distress ink and adhered it to an intricate, black, die cut rectangle. The pattern on the journal page and the die cut seem to mesh so well, that little else was needed. Some card stock that was a close match to the digital pa...per shows off the die cut detail and the black card base makes a great frame. Instead of a banner, I decided to use a piece of vellum to hold the stamped sentiment. Using long nose tweezers, I curled the edges of the vellum for interest, before adding it to the card face. A black satin bow and a funky little trinket pin complete the composition... I like the look of semi transparent (or semi opaque!) vellum, toning down the pattern and color, but allowing some of the design through.
